Red Sox looking like they're going to win, then breaking their fans' hearts, in progress. (Who's going to be the goat this time?)

Tonight's true story

Watching the game here at home. Bottom of the 7th with the Red Sox up 4-1. I say to spot, "Let's bet on how they blow it. I say Giambi hits a home run." spot immediately says that a Red Sox player will trip and fall trying to make an out. Sure enough, next two plays, BAM and BAM. Though neither was truly the game-loser, we called it a prediction tie.

My advice to Cubs and Red Sox fans, speaking as a long-time Vikings fan: You just gotta accept the zen beauty of the whole thing. It's especially hard to see the Cubs fans still mulling around Wrigley after the game in heartbreak, but consider the alternative. If either team were to actually win the World Series after all this time, what would happen? A whole-city week-long party to end all parties for sure, but what after that? Now you're just a team that's won one World Series in the past 90 years! Long-suffering fans and loveable losers? Nope! Once that next trophy's in the case, your team just plain sucks! You'd let your team turn into the freakin' Phillies for one lousy victory parade? Think it over carefully.... Apparently the Bartman did...
